I really enjoyed all the photos you have. Quite a project but a real SS is well worth it to the right person. Rollers generally sell in the $2,000 - $4,000 area and from that point on there are just too many unknowns for accurate pricing. Complete restored cars are easier to price, otherwise the prices range all over the place.
I remember seeing this rather rough '65 Impala SS because it was located close by. The seller was asking $9200 and I believe he sold it, but for how much?? It still might give you a general idea for comparison sake. If you are selling, best of luck. If just curious about 'what's it worth', the more you complete, the higher the price, generally speaking. Tough to say. Couple of years back, I saw a 65 impala SS, all body work done, no rust, 327ci with 4speed, needed paint and he was asking $8500. I tried to buy a 65 SS, 327, 4 speed, numbers matching car. Needed rear quarters and total restoration. The old fart said he was negotiable, then wouldn't come off his $5k asking price, so I walked.

A lot of people don't like taking on someone elses project and they might not like the LS swap. That said, I would start at 10K, probably take $8500.

I'd want an engine size that was original to the 1965 SS. So even if the LS1 is an "upgrade," I view it as a deduction of $1K-$2K once the car is done. The missing AC will be another -$1K deduction. Figure that 90% of buyers considering such a car, would want it with the factory optioned engine and color combination. White and blue is a good combo imo. What's a decent #3 driver, automatic (correct older restoration) worth these days? $12K-$18K?

The first muscle car I ever considered buying was back in 1993, a 1967 Chevy Impala SS 427 automatic in Marina Blue. The car was restored and the ask price was in the upper teens as I recall. The guy really didn't want to sell it unless he got all the money. So we couldn't reach a deal. I always liked the Impala SS's of all years, always an underrated and underappreciated model.
