Default '99 z28 Value?

Looking at '99 z28 for sale in town. It's been awhile since I've owned an f-body and I'm not sure what it's worth. Here's a run down:

'99 z28 w/leather and 100k miles
M6 LS7 clutch
Moser 12 bolt w/Eaton posi
226/230 EPS cam and BTR springs
Full UMI rear suspension - torque arm, rear sway bar, LCAs, SFC, panhard bar, etc
1/78 long tubes
Borla exhaust
Remote tune

Paint is in ok shape, the black on the mirrors is faded and a few blemishes here and there. No bad dents or anything like that. Interior is in good shape, no tears or rips in the seats. Dash pad is cracked though.

He wants $8k, seems like it's worth 7k-7.5k to me. What do you thinK?

His ask isn't unreasonable given that its a stick, which commands a premium, and the mods done to the car. It doesn't really matter what you think its worth and what he lists it for, what only matters is a price that you both agree on. Spending +/-500 to 1k on a solid car isn't going to make or break the car.

That's true, and it has all the mods I'd do to the car anyways. I had a decent handle on the price of these cars about 5 years ago. But checking after checking KBB value... it was gut punch. I don't take KBB as gospel, but I figured it'd be a good idea to get some input before I pay double the private party book value.

You really cant use KBB or NADA on these cars. They dont accurately represent the collectibility in the market. There is MUCH more demand that those sites show. A quick glance at NADA says the car should be worth 4k. I'd buy as many of those as I could find for 4k LOL. I just noticed the car has a rearend....thats a decent deal and Id probably offer 7 or 7500 depending on how stern the guy is initially, but be prepared to pay full price if hes firm. Good cars are getting harder and harder to find.

KBB gives no credit for an M6 (+10%). And their mileage premium at 100K is understated a bit. I think the break even/no premium point is around 160,000 miles. Figure an accurate value would be at least $1K higher that KBB states.

Prices from January 2012 are not that much different than Jan 2017, especially for decent M6's. 90% of what you knew then probably still applies if mileage is unchanged. At most, I'd say prices for more used up cars is at most 10% lower than 5 yrs ago. And the mods that previous owner did probably do add some value that wasn't there before. And if it has all the mods you'd do anyways, that's a slam dunk as it will save you from buying a $5K-$7K car, putting in $5K or more in fresh mods....and ending up with the car in front of you for $8K or less.

Kbb doesn't give a premium for a 6 speed....but the general population does. They always sell for at least 1k higher than a comparable A4 car.
