Default Value WS6?

I'm thinking about selling my 1999 WS6. 19k miles, 6 speed , black. Always garaged, never wrecked, two adult owners since new. Has headers, mild cam upgrade, Baer brakes, subframe connectors and a few other mods. Have all the original parts if someone prefers stock. Very good condition although not quite perfect.

What should I ask for it?

Where is the best place to sell?

Thanks.

Kevin

Without photos or more information I'd place the car in the range of $13,500-$16,000. Sweet spot for a nice car is probably $14-$15K. The mods may nor may not hurt the final price. It will probably reduce the demand somewhat. Exhaust and wheels changed as well? Original tires replaced? What regimen did you follow on fluid changes: coolant, rear diff, transmission, brake, clutch, ps and engine oil? Many original cars like this are still on all original fluids other than engine oil and coolant...which isn't the best thing. A detailed and documented fluid change history that exceeded factory specs would be a big plus.

Fwiw, I looked at a 1-owner, 14K mile, black 2000 WS6 M6 TTop car back in fall 2011 at a large dealership. It was bone 100% stock including tires, shifter, air intake, etc. Could have bought it for $16,500 but felt it was too much money for that time. I'd have preferred $15,500. I ended up buying my current car in Jan 2012 ('99 SS M6 TTops - 1 owner - 12K miles - $11,950). So I felt my offer of $15,500 for the WS6 was plenty fair. And it's not like the price of most lower mileage WS6's have risen since 2011. Normally I'd place the value of a decent quality/mileage WS6 at $1500-$2000 over a comparable SS. Being a 1999 your WS6 is probably fully depreciated now.

Where to sell? Depends on how strong your asking price is. If you want $16K+ you'll probably need the help of Autotrader.com, Ebay, and other national sources. Most potential buyers are going to come from within 100-500 miles of you. Since you live within 60 miles of Atlanta that's a big plus. Your buyer is probably out there right now just waiting for an ad to pop. I'd probably start with this forum here as well as CL....both free. From what I can recall, Georgia and the surrounding southern states have a pretty good following for these cars....not to mention not being in the rust belt.

Yeah, I see 90% of them listed in that range as well. But, it's only the lowest 10-15% of that group that actually sells. Everything else sits until reality hits the seller....or a flipper/dealer lands a fish.

The last black '99 WS6 M6 I remember discussing here had 3K miles. It was on Ebay and sold in the $19K's. That was about 2-3 yrs ago. I remember that well since they had to drive down a 100% rock road to take the pictures at a train yard. I think that one was 100% factory stock.

Thanks for the input everyone. This confirms my own ideas of where it should be priced.

You will sell it in that price range. I would stick with Autotrader and ebay personally. No bidding on ebay though, just do a BUY IT NOW or 'best offer'. Too many idiots screw around with bidding, especially juveniles.
