2002 ceta Im looking at this CETA. Ive wantEd one since they came out but I was young and couldnt afford one at the time. Then life happens....etc but as getting ready to hit 40. I think its time. I want a bone stock one. Id have to travel quite a bit for this one Looks stock except for the exhaust. What exhaust do you guys/gals think it is? And how hard would it be to find a stock exhaust? I have pics from a sales rep under the hood. Air box is stock.
What do you all think is a fair price? I think just short of 20k is steep. The car has been for sale for approx 2 months.

I live about an hour from there, they seem like a decent dealer that sells a lot of Vettes. I think for 50k miles their price is high especially for an automatic.
17? Make the trip. 20? I would pass. Being in the business, I would bet they have 12 or 13 in it...they should have plenty of room to move at that price.

I agree they look stock ish just bigger and not tucked under like a factory ws6 exhaust tips. Its the first thing I noticed.
Would finding a stock exhaust or tips be out of the question at this point??

A $20K price is more in line with a 10K mile car. I was looking at these back in 2011-2013 when they were probably worth more money. And at that time I passed on several at the $20K level with under 20,000 miles, some were M6's and others convertibles. I recall one of these in my area 2 yrs ago selling for $16K and it had 38K miles. You have to expect dealers to ask very inflated prices. This same car in private hands would be advertised around the $14K-$17K level.
Assuming these cars are worth a 20% premium to a regular WS6.....then a regular black one with 50K worth around $11K-$13K puts the CETA at $13K-$16K. Don't be in a rush. These are out there. And you don't have to go to Florida to find one. Most of these have pretty low mileage as they were put away as collectibles and driven sparingly. Finding one with stock exhaust should not be hard.

Thanks Firebrian for the reply. Over the past year Ive been looking pretty hard. Autotrader, cars.com cargurus and so on. Seems like Im just not seeing any/many in my area. The few that are are verts. (Not my preference) or insanely priced. Im not necessarily looking for a perfect car with sub 5k miles. Just a nice Time capsule. Thats stock.

Wonderful replies by everyone. That car is way overpriced with those miles. It's a seriously used car with 50k miles. I have slightly more mileage on mine (bought it new and well cared for) and you can't help but get rock chips, issues from driving. It's just life. It's definitely a $20k car with mileage in the teens or lower. You indicated that you do not prefer a convertible. Obviously do NOT settle for a convertible if you don't want one. I have 3 'verts because my wife and I love them, but they are not for everyone and require proper care. Be patient and get what you want. I've travelled and looked all over the US getting the right car. Travel or location should never be an obstacle if you find the right car. I found my C6 in Cape Cod in the dead of winter. Not exactly an easy ride from western NC. After loads of photos, e/mails, phone calls, etc.. I had the car shipped to me. Worth every effort I made. Best of luck with your search.

Thanks NC01TA for the reply. I came back to looking at this one this week. I contacted the dealership about 2 months ago. When the car first hit their site. I think we all agree as to why its still available. I had looked at one in January 15 k miles $20k. real close to home. Sadly I wasnt quite in a position to buy it then. Its haunted me all year. Thanks again to all who replied. And if you see a TTop Ceta pop up I your neck of the woods. Please let me know.

I'm not sure how well the salesman is versed on these so if he sounds uninformed, see if you can speak with someone else. Blown speakers in most Trans Ams?? Mine sure aren't blown and I'm from the old school of Black Sabbath, AC/DC and Led Zeppelin. Maybe he has just been exposed to lousy Trans Ams, and when he saw this one, he set the price real high?? Just something to consider. I like to cover all the angles. I don't know if he is the owner of the place or a 20 year old salesman.
IMO $25k would be absolute top $$$, and even that's high. However I wouldn't pass it up if it's everything you want. Keeping it for many years is the key. Tiring of it after 2 or 3 years would hurt. I wish you the best.

Thanks again for the replies. I feel the car is too high as far a price. But I wanted to see what you guys thought as to how much. Only thing Im not wild about is the sub frame connectors. As Im looking for bone stock. If they are bolt on no biggie. But memory serves me most SFCs were weld on.
Im going to watch this listing for a week or so see if the price moves. If it does Ill contact the Dealership.

@Firebrian. That would be my preferred path. Purchase it from an original owner. Theyve cared for it all these years. Now they are ready for a C8 or something....
