Default 2000 ss

Looking seriously at picking up a white 2000 M6 T-top SS for sale. It's extremely clean, 3 owner car (all of which were family/close friends with each other) with ~37,000 miles. Always garaged, ceramic coating on it, well-aligned panels, minimal bubbling on the sail panel, no accidents and all original paint. Interior is leather and also real clean. SLP options are 5-spoke wheels (no pitting), Bilstein suspension, dual/dual exhaust, auburn diff, and some of the other minor ones (mats, cover, FOBs, plaque).

What's this car worth? I drove a 2002 SS vert for about 12 years (sold a couple years ago for $8K with ~95K miles on it) but have been out of the market for a while so not sure where these cars are at right now...especially with everything going on in the world. Any help pricing this thing is appreciated!

Just an FYI on this, even if the bubbling is minimal now, there is no way for this to go but worse. There is no simple repair intervention no matter how early you catch it, the roof will need to be removed and replaced to resolve this condition.

The current conditions are a huge wild card IMO. Special interest/collector cars (i.e. toys and speculative/investment purchases) are totally non-essential and, due to lower demand, don't bring the same premium in times of economic distress. Some folks will always have money for toys, but as that group becomes smaller, and the group of folks who NEED to sell becomes larger, it's going to be harder to generate interest in most examples without some very attractive prices. Too soon to tell just how deeply or how long these effects will last but, at the current moment, I certainly wouldn't be willing to pay a premium price for any non-essential vehicle purchase - in other words, if you don't absolutely need the car and you're not getting a killer deal then I would hold off. If the last Great Recession is used as an indicator, then there will be plenty of great deals to come.

I would NOT pay top dollar in these times either. You don't want to rip people off if they are in dire need of $$ so offer them KBB book value if the car is as nice as claimed. KBB is usually on the low side in most cases so you would be getting a good deal and they would see the numbers from an actual source. If they feel it is too low, then let them wait, because very few will be banging down their doors to pay cash in these difficult times. I haven't looked at KBB in awhile but I bet the car is in the $6,000 - $7,000 area which would be a sweet deal for a low mileage ride in very good condition. Punch in your zip code on their site and see what it says, just remember to add the actual miles and the SS package. Is the car worth more during better times?? You bet it is, but it isn't the actual case at present. Good luck if you go for it.

Here’s a 2000 white M6 with 37K miles. Just might be the one you speak of.

Currently bid at $9600 although 8 days left on bidding.
