Default 2004 CTS-V Value

Hi All,

What can I expect to sell my 2004 CTS-V for?

75k miles
LS6 was blown when I got it. It has a 450hp 6.0l in it now. Runs fantastic. 30k miles on the motor
7/10 cosmetically.
I need to be able to get $16k. Is that doable?

Thanks!

Pics would help and more info on the motor, where it came from, mods, documentation etc... with that being said I see stock 100K+ cars ASKING ~13k on the low side and ~23k on the smoking crack side. I don't think 16k FRIM is out of line given everything jives.

Sorry, I doubt it. A near 20 year old car with a NOM and Lord knows how much abuse to blow up that original motor? How many people will lay out $16k for that?? Never mind a so-so exterior if 7 out of 10 is the best you can rate it. Low teens would be realistic IMO and even then, how many are looking to lay out serious $$$ at this time of year with holidays, etc.... Maybe photos would help sway my opinion. Interior, exterior, engine compartment shots would certainly help. How is everything else working? A/C? Brakes? Are the tires in need of replacing? Details are so important with pricing.
Good luck with the sale. Certainly try to get that $16k. No harm in trying. You never know who is looking.

Is the new motor iron or aluminum?

I see no difference between replacing a blown engine with a different one vs someone pulling a good running engine for one with more power. Perhaps the question of how hard it was ran and abuse to other components is key? Without documentation of the engine that went in it if always wonder how many miles are on that one, who did what to it and was it done correctly?

I've witnessed multiple LS engines that gave up the ghost without being beat on, but it is quite rare.
$16k to me, is high, but you never know. You can always come done. In the age of $5k F-Bodies that now pull $10k, who knows. lol The rear end would be my main concern if it runs well.
