A salvage title and 4th gear is trashed? I would just stay away from it. Hows the rest of the car?

mike86ttype 08-28-2008 02:38 PM

i talked to him yesterday and he said the clutch may be goin out and that is why 4 gear does not work. what a tard. i am suppose to go look at it monday. He is actually a member here and asked about the trans and they all told him it needs a rebuild. i may offer him 6 if its in perfect shape. i know it has been sitting for 4 months

I paid 6500 for an M6 car with a clean title as comparison.....

yamablaster024 09-03-2008 10:02 PM

I paid this and I paid that is not a good comparison. Right now salvage cars are hurting due to the fact the few people can fork out that much money with out getting a loan. If the car is "mint" its worth around 7k. I wouldnt pay that for it though. I paid 7k for my Silver SS with 60k miles, brand new clutch, and full long tube magnaflow exhaust. Keep looking my friend. Oh, and it had a clean title

How can the body and interior be in perfect shape, but yet have a salvage title?

If it was already fixed, then wouldn't it have some sort of reconstructed title?

I'd pass altogether, something doesn't make sense.

Wow, way to contradict yourself.

I paid a little over $5K for my '98 TA with a salvage title, but it's in perfect mechanical condition. Just needs some paint. I wouldn't pay over $5K if the tranny needs a rebuild for sure. Maybe offer $4500.
