NVR SPDS:
I see the Texas plates, was the previous owner named Ron? If so, I sold him those tires when I worked for Discount.
I'm guessing it is because his car was identical to that. Very clean car.

I think what he was saying was that he had 315's on his stock 10 spoke SS wheels that are only 9 inchs wide....which is unsafe...https://ls1tech.com/forums/wheels-tires/120716-wheels-tires-everything-you-should-need-know-here-must-read.html

there is a place in jersey that does ANY custom wheel work. i was thinking about getting mine widened to run 315s. what else would be required to run this size rim/tire? fender roller and a spacer? is there a better way to do this without a spacer?

no.
if they're stock as manufactured from GM directly (i.e., has a GM logo stamped into the casting), they are 17x9.
if they truly are 17x9.5, then they are replicas, and will not have the GM logo stamped into the casting.
you don't measure the wheel from the outside edges of the rim lips, you measure them from the inside, where the tire bead meets the wheel lip. that can easily account for .5"
