Default new bfg drag radials

I am using the BFG DRs 255/50/16, and have less that 1000 miles on them. I only have 12 passes on them, and they are past the wear bars. How many passes, miles can I expect from DRs in general? For this price, I could have just bought some dedicated slicks and changed them at the track.

My car only weighs 3100 with me in it, and I am only pushing about 325 hp.

WOW. You must be doing some huge burnouts each time. A radial handles better than a bias slick. But a set of either for the track is cool. Only Nitto has a good over all DR for mileage. And at 325hp you could get away with street tires at around 25 psi. But that s with a low tread wear rating of 200 or less and a temp rating of B. Basically a cheap tire.

Did you ever do burnouts without going through a water box or on the street dry? That can wear down the BFGs pretty quickly.

As far as tire life it usually goes like this in my experience

Nitto: 12-15k
BFGs: 5-7k
M/Ts: 1-3k

The BFG DRs are HORRIBLE with tread life.... they hook great but suck at longevity.

I didnt even get 4k on mine and theyre toast.... only a couple visits to the track.

My burnouts were only about 6-8 seconds in second gear. These were all done in the water box, and I never tried any street burnouts. I only run these tires to and from the track, about 70 miles round trip, and that has only been 4 times. I might be able to get about 10 more passes on these next season, then I think I will be straight street tires only.
