Seems to me to be an awefully big offset for such a narrow wheel.

Is there anything smaller? 50mm or less?

Oh they will fit, but they will look even more tucked in that OEM wheels.

Stock wheel is 9" wide, so that wheel will be 1/4" narrower each side of center.

Stock wheels have a 50 mm offset so being 58 mm the wheel will move inwards 8 mm, or 5/16"

So with the wheel being 1/4" narrower to the outside, and moving 5/16" inward, the entire assembly will visually move "into" the wheel well 9/16", or just over 1/2"

More of an FYI, looks like you have your look all figured out. BTW I think the C5 wheels look really good ona TA!

Thanks for all the info man never really understood the offset deal. I have the stock 16 teens on it now and id like to achieve the stane of a ws6 pretty much...got the hood and the rims im getting are 17x8.5. So my main question is what offset do I need to keep the car from looking retarded...and like a ws6?

Well, my comparison on "where" the wheels will sit is based on the stock 17" wheel.

I know many people run the 17" Vette wheels on the F-Body and it looks fine.

All in all I think you will be happy with the look.

Well, I think your choices for C5 wheel are very limited but I would say you want to get an offset less than 50 mm.

Like I said before stock 17" wheels on a WS6 and Camaro SS are 50mm, and as you can tell they are slightly "tucked" in.

My aftermarket 18" x 9.5" FIKSE wheels have a 38mm offset just FYI.

So to answer your question anywhere around 40 mm - 45 mm will work well. Basically the smaller the offset the more the wheel will move outwards.

I went ahead and ordered the 17x8.5 with a 50mm offset and 275/40 tires. Should this keep the rims/trires flush with the wheel well?.....Hope I didnt screw up.

They'll work out fine, the tires will not stick out of the wheel wells, may be slightly recessed, but no worse than stock.

Enjoy the new wheels, the thin 5 spoke design C5 wheels will be very sharp.
