Fronts only?

Fronts only? I have KD's on the car and the fronts are wearing on the outside edges, must be the track. 
Sooo, I went to a local tire place and had them look at the rears, 295/35/18, to see if they need to be replaced. He tells me that I would be throwing away alot of rubber in the rear and only need the fronts,265/35/18.
So my question is, if I put new rubber on the front and not the rear, will the car handle differently and will this be a problem at the track?

Definetly only change the fronts. Too bad the KD's are side specific, or you could just swap the tires side to side.
You may also want to have the alignment done with the tire install.
