27" from the wheel well to the ground, 2.5" from the top of the tire to the wheel well. Keep in mind it is a 96.

That's LOW. I think my front sits at 27 (that's what I set it at when I did the coil overs).

Hmm. So it might have lowering springs then. I guess I should hold off on the ls1 springs then, until I figure this out. If it's lowered, then ls1 springs will jack the rear up pretty high.

mine measures 27.75" ground to rear fender which was .5" lower than stock so you're sitting about 1.25" below what mine was stock. how many miles on the car? might not be lowering springs but just some extreme wear.

Not sure what it is, but it's definitely springs. It has 125,000 miles on it. I wouldn't be surprised if the were some cheap soft lowering springs.

I would try to replace those man. I used to have a set of factory ones but can't find them after I moved.

agreed. sounds like either lowering spring or some heavily used stockers. in any case it shouldnt be more than a 50 dollar fix though
