What to do with bfgoodrich tire?

What to do with bfgoodrich tire? Here is the details. I own a 2003 Dodge 3/4 ton, 4x4 pickup, with 17inch wheels. The pickup has only 3,000 miles. Saturday night I left to get food, went five miles and the left rear tire goes flat. Not a loud blow out, just a whoose. Anyway, the outer belt seperated from the sidewall. I went and found the outer belt and there is no cut or nail in the outer belt.
Today I went to local bfgoodrich dealer to see what could be done. They call the bfgoodrich warranty came office, and all they want to pay is 40% of the cost of a new tire. Reason being that he says I ran the tire underinflated.
Now here's the question ive got. Checked the door it says 60psi for the front, 70 psi for the rear. Well i keep mine at 50psi all around. Is that underinflated, or is that just a bunch of crap? I say crap, but i am bias.
What would you do?

Re: What to do with bfgoodrich tire? 70 psi???? Damn that sounds like A LOT! The only time I ever heard of putting that much air in a tire is in my dads big rig and we usually run about 95 in his tires(which is low for some people)

Re: What to do with bfgoodrich tire? Read closely, the door sticker usally says what the tire should be run at for a mixture of comfort, gas milage and safety. The psi rated on the side of the tire is the max it should ever run at.
Ask them why NTB and just about every other garage inflates the tires to 32 psi even though the side of almost every passenger car tire is rated around 44. They obviously don't want to pay you.

Re: What to do with bfgoodrich tire? unfortunately you have to follow the door placard, and the tire specifications. Lucky for you BFG is willing to pay 40% honestly. Id snag it up. Next time you pick up a set...get road hazard certificates for them and it will get replaced free
