Default looking for input on front 17", and rear 18" wheels

I was just wondering a few things about this setup. I want to get the zo6 wheels and have 17x9 in the front and 18x9 in the rear.

1) Will the rear tires rub the wheel wells?
2) Will this setup improve my handling, or result in some sort of handling performance loss?
3) What kind of drop from the stock ride height can I lower the rear to without rubbing?
4) Any pictures of this setup will be much appreciated, as I really dont know what it looks like>

Thanks in advance.

I have front 17x9 rear 18x10.5 OEM Z06 wheels and the car is lowered 1.5". The front required nothing, the rear required BFH and 1/8" Spacers.

My best friens Toonz has 17X9's up front and 18X10.5's out back with 285/40's i beieve and it is lowered. He is using Prokit springs and Koni Double adjustable shocks front and rear. I believe he doesnt have any rubbing issues and is NOT running a spacer.
Heres one pic.
Heres a link to his web page for more pics.

Hope that helped. Im sure he will chime in.

I'm running 18x9.5's in the front and 18x10.5's in the rear with a 2inch drop and no problems at all.

I personally am not a big fan of different diameter wheels on a F-Body. It works on the Vette because the tires are different diameter, so the side wall heights look the same. But on a F-Body the overall height of the tire must be as close to the same as possible so as not to freak out the ABS. Therfore the sidewall heights are different and can look goofy.

I'd say splurge for at least 4 18" x 9.5" wheels. Then all four tires match and if you would like to the wheels and tires can be rotated.

Just my two cents - for what it is worth . . . .

Wow, that's a good looking formula up there... lol. Thanks Kyle.

As for your answers, Kyle has most of the info right in his post above, the tire sizes are 265/40/17 up front and 275/40/18 (WAY TO NARROW) in the rear. I'll be putting some 305's in the rear and a set of 275's up front fairly soon. No rubbing yet.
