You're misreading my statement, though I can see why as I re-read it. What I should have wrote more clear was that in it in no way would be a direct fit, you'll more than likely need a spacer and grind the calipers quite a bit.

The drag brakes have zero caliper overhang which LT1 brakes do...so there's one hurdle that you'll need to clear. Drag brakes have an overall smaller diameter than the LT1 brakes. I understand how the tabs from the pads protrude...

Personally, I'm very surprised that it was mentioned it was necessary to modify a drag brake setup...the GW wheel is about the only wheel I've encountered whereas someone mentioned they had to modify the calipers to make them fit. The only other wheel I've heard having issues was a one-off custom centerline wheel...I'm sure there are others, but it would be such a rarety to have this issue.

About the only time wheel fitments are tougher on a drag caliper setup is when beadlocks are used...but that is a whole different setup.

I guess another question that I would bring up is why consider such nice drag brakes and go all out...but then skimp on economy china built wheels.

SJM, the drag brakes you sell, can you just buy the calipers and pads and will they just bolt on or do you have to swap backing plates, rotors, and remove the parking brake ASY ?

Rear drag kits replace backing plates and have new rotors/calipers and pads. You will loose your parking brake. You will also drop ~25lbs.

I am going to try and swap LT1 calipiers on my car and see if I can get the wheels to fit. My car is going on the chassis dyno tomorrow so hopefully next week or maybe even over the weekend I can try this swap. I'll post up pics and a link to the thread I make about this sway when I get into the swap.

I've done some research on the issue and if you switch to strange brakes you will lose your parking brake. Aerospace Components does sell a rear brake kit that does include a parking brake like our original design for 600- 900 bucks depending on what type you get.

BTW, for those that do not know LT1 brakes have the parking brake built into the caliper.
they clear the lt1 brakes just fine. i have about 20 of these wheels for sale if anyone is interested. hit me up 913 961 6339.

Here's an even more odd ball question. I have a 3rd gen moser 9" with stock 3rd gen brakes and rotors that i want to swap into my 01 SS. Will those brakes clear the GW rear wheels?

it takes grinding on the LT1 brake to get it to fit. plus LS1's use a bigger brake.
