Default slick compound question
I'm looking to buy a pair of MT et drags 275/50/15 and i found a pair of them really cheap but the compound is L4 (which is the softest available from MT) It says that compound is recommended for FWD,lightweight dragsters, or cars without rear suspension... mine is not any of those, and am curious how much of a dfference i would see traction wise running that compound rather than the preferred. I can get the L4's about $100 cheaper but if it's going to hurt me alot i'd rather just pay the extra $. Btw i don't have a ls1.. or even a v8 but the car is a 90 300zx TT with a th400.

I think those are "C" tires, meaning they were intended for lightweight, high-revin' sport compacts that make their peak power up in the RPM range.

I get that part... i just am wondering how they will run on a 3200lb car. I think im going to try em out and see what happens.

You may kill the sidewalls if the car hits the tires hard... but you can always run tubes to help stiffen the sidewalls.

will running tubes stiffen the sidewalls that much? If they are softer wouldn't they be better for hooking due to wrinkling more anyways?
