Re: Nitto tread life? i have gotten over 16K out of them easily with a few trips to the track and i am pretty hard on them on the street. the key is keep the psi BELOW 22 psi otherwise you will wear out the outsides FAST. the guys that get only 8K or so miles are keeping the psi too high. i found 21 psi was the best for traction and wear.
gotcha. Know about the front by any chance? Yokohoma's newest, can't remember what they're called. 275/35/18

so gator, your saying if i have them over 21 psi it'll wear the outsides faster? i think that was a typo but i just want to make sure no one gets confused: a higher psi will wear the inside faster, not the outside. and if thats what you meant then i can vouch for that because when i got rid of my nittos the chords were peeling off the middle but the sides still had plenty of rubber. dont know how long they lasted but i raced every weekend and did a few burnouts on the street too. thats what kills it the most, the street just scrapes all your rubber off but the burnout box at the track is nice and smooth so your tires just spin alot and generate heat.
