Help this newb with tire decision
Well the time has come to finally find some nice tires for the ride. Right now mods are in sig just cam and exhaust putting down just shy of 400 rwhp. It is going to become more of a track car soon as I now have a daily driver. Still stock suspension but ill be doing that over x-mas so will have a fab'd 9" with 4.11 gears.
That all being said I was offered 275/50/15's MT ET Street Radials locally for fairly cheap. Along with some nice prostars, was just curious on opinions on this tire. How much power it can hold after awhile or should I just go for the 28" tire now for eventually when I add more power. Also how bad is grinding and clearance with this tire?? Any other suggestions in tires and would this rim size be able to support a slick down the road?? Thanks in advance for any help, i'm clueless with wheels haha.

if it's a good deal on those, i would say get them. there shouldn't be any grinding or clearance issues but that depends on the backspacing. you will have to run a spacer on the front wheels. do you know what they are coming off of ? later down the road you could just put some ET Streets on those wheels.

Well the guy who is selling them to me bought for his F-body and is now going a different route. They are a pretty good deal so I was thinking about just buying them. Yeah I thought there would be a bunch of grinding even with spacers, he said he has spacers to give me as well i dont know how much grinding i'd want to put up with to feel safe though haha. Yeah that's what I was thinking about putting the ET Streets on but with those gears and decent power wouldn't I have to bump up to a 28" tire?? That was my major concern....

thats what i was saying. for now you can run whats on the rims ET STREET RADIALS. if you develop enough power later down the road you could switch to ET STREETS (NON RADIAL TIRE).

Yes I get that but if I put on a the ET Street slick on there 1) would they have one that would fit that rim size and 2) wouldn't that still be a 26" in tire ?? SO would i have to get new rims in the long run is my real question i guess haha.

Hrmmm i dont know i just always see people bumping up to a 28" wheel after a certain power level. The goal is stroked and forged toward 500 rwhp with a healthy shot of spray taking it over 700 rwhp. I would love if these could hold the 500 though haha.
