WHAT was I THINKING?!?!
Nope... The rears are 335s and those are 13.2" wide. So thats a no go... Looks like she is gonna be grounded for a day while I work out the marks.
My girl just came in and said... "after what you looked like when you saw those rims... I am NEVER touching your car again..." So there is a little light at the end of the tunnel. That and she bought me a nice *** detailing kit from Zaino...
I will post some pics up of the damage today as well as a before and after...

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time

Pretty nasty

This is after some 400 wet, I just folded up a little strip of sand paper and used my thumb to apply the pressure on the lip. You also might want to try out a rubber sanding block, the sand paper will get chewed up pretty fast at first but it will work easier during the later stages. As you can see, I didn't get everything out but these wheels aren't perfect so those little chips are acceptable in my case.

After the 400 I bumped up to the final 800 wet, some 1200 would have been nice to use after but I just didn't have any.

After the 800 I just used some Mother's metal polish to bring it back. Some fine scratches show up with the flash, but that's because I stopped with 800 grit and only used the Mothers tub on a microfiber. I got the rash worked down the the same quality as the rest of the wheel, and that's all I wanted to do. For less than 15min it was a quick and easy fix. With a few more grits and another beer that scuff would have been completely erased. It is really simple repairing polished wheels. Don't be afraid
. post pics to show the extent of the damage.
Thanks for the help on that... That really makes a lot more sense and looks pretty simple. I am thankful there are nice people out there willing to help. Last edited by DriftR; Aug 2, 2009 at 08:49 PM.
Anyway, she has been doing a great job of making it up to me. Started work on the rims and they already look a million times better.
I guess it all works out in the end...
