Will these tires work?

I'm about to get some 18's all the way around. I was told that the overall diameter needs to be within .5" of each other so my abs won't freak out, but I have no idea how to calculate that. Right now I have 265/35/18 and 295/30/19 and apparently, that doesnt work out. I'm going to put on 275/40/18 and 295/35/18. Are those sizes within .5" of each other?

Hm.... The diameter of the fronts will be 26.66in. and the rears will be 26.12in.

Should that be ok?

you need a 275 35 18 in the front

That makes it 25.57 in the front, which would be WORSE...

But I was told that if there is a .5" difference in diameter, it will set off my abs like it is now with my 265/35/18 and 295/30/19 set up.

there's a difference between what you need, and what's supposed to be there. yes that's what it should be, but it's not the only thing that will work. i have 275/45/17's in the front and 275/40/18's in the back with absolutely no problems at all apart from the speedo being a few mph off.

I run 275/35R18 and a 295/35R18 and have no issues.

Same here.....

Fronts: 275/40/ZR17 (25.66 inch diameter)
Rears: 305/35/ZR18 (26.40 inch diameter)

So that's almost an inch difference and had no problems with the ABS or TCS. I then used a diablosport predator to set tire size to recalibrate the speedometer and still didn't have a problem.
