Default Rally 2 Wheels, Same Bolt Pattern & Backspace as 2002 TA?

Hello, I bought a 1968 Firebird, I want to install the running gear and front and rear suspension under the car from a 2001 TA, so will a set of Rally 2 Wheels from a 1968 Firebird fit the newer suspension, 1998 thru 2002? Bolt pattern and offset the same? thanks, Dennis

do you mean youre putting an 86 suspension into a 68 bird? the bolt pattern is the same, but im sure the offset and backspace is completely different.

I'm not positive, but I think the wheels will fit. I've seen 2nd gen wheels on 3rd gens. Not sure about 1st gen offsets. I know 4th gen has a totally different offset and can't use previous gen wheels.

he changed the dates. first off he said it was from an 86. now hes talking 4th gen. 2nd and 3rd are close, but 4th is way different then anything else. i really doubt you can just bolt on 4th gen wheels to a 1st gen without major bodywork.

Check into putting 3rd gen (82-92) wheels on your 68. If you are able to do that, then you should be able to bolt on 4th gen wheels using a 2 inch adapter. But you will also need to check into how much space you have for wheel width.

Hello, Your right, I meant to put 1968 all along, not 1986. I have not bought any wheels for the car yet, but, I want to install original 1968 Rally 2 Wheels under the car. I would like the outward appearance to look original.

There is no need to cut the '68 up. Just rebuild the stock front and rear suspensions with a few performance upgrades and add better brakes. It'll outhandle a 4th gen if you do it right at much less cost and time.
The front structure of the old 'bird is not designed to carry the load from the front coilover shocks. The rear has the same issues. The 1st gens were leaf springs and the 3rd & 4ths were coils. If you compare the two structures you'll see the differences.
