Default Billetspecialties or Bogart's??

I am looking for some new drag wheels and am tiered of the same old pro-stars, I have run the 15x8 275-60-15s out back with skinnies up front and want some 15x10s out back now. I have a pair of C5 Zo6 wheels I run most of the time on the street but I like to have a set of drag wheels that I can throw on and not have to take off right away and I want something a little different. I like the new Billet specialties street light wheels but **** an extra $100.00 a wheel for the F-body wheels. I already have ground calipers for my pro-stars so would I even need the ones specifically for the F-body? Anyway I have heard good things about the Bogart's also and anything else anyone can think of let me know.

Also if you have any pics of anything other than pro-stars let me see them.

I was going to post the same question about the F Body specific Billet Specailties. I'm in the same boat with the ground calipers. Bogarts are nice, but very $$$$. You could get a complete set of B/S rims and have 600 bucks left over. Give me a price for the Pro-Star skinnies! It would help you out alittle bit with the new rims. I've got the matching rears already, don't know if it's 15x8 or 10 though.

What happened to the car sale? Had second thoughts about it? You've got lots of time into that thing....keep it!

I have been borrowing the pro stars for about a year now. They were for my 67 camaro and when I sold it they went with it but it has been going through a long and very nice frame off restoration that it did not need the wheels yet but it is about done. So I need to find wheels I like. I still have the new Convo Pros but dont like them on my car so I am selling them for $500.00 OBO.

I have BS wheels now that i am going to use, They are non F-body wheels, and i also have ground down calipers I had for my Prostars. I think im still going to need a spacer though. I still ran a small spacer with my Prostars. Mine are 5.5 backspacing though. I have a shortened 9".

Bolted RT's get my vote.
I just looked at the BS Street Lites for F-Body, only avail w/ 7.5 backspace. My Strange rear was narrowed 1 inch. Hope they have 6.5's avail. soon : (

You're considering two different type of wheels. The Billet Specialty wheels are street/strip wheels, the bolted RT's are drag wheels. We can also build you street/strip bolted RT's too which would be closer in comparison to style.

The advantage of our drag bolted RT's are they will be like dropping about 75lbs from your car vs. the Billet Specialty wheels. Using our wheels, braking distances will be shorter, 60ft times better. This is due to weight differences. It's not really a fair comparison as the differences are so large due to ours being a drag wheel and theirs being a street/strip wheel.

We can build also street/strip bolted RT wheels too...those would be similar to the Billet Specialties design intent BUT our street/strip Bolted RT wheels are still lighter and they tuck better in the front and they are a direct fit (billet specialties rears are a direct fit, their fronts are not...if you use a spacer on them to make them fit easier...then the wheel will protrude further. From a weight savings comparison, using our street/strip bolted RT wheels (not drag version) would be like dropping ~20lbs from your car.

Our drag wheels have a 1 year warranty, our street/strip wheels have a 3 year warranty. The street/strip wheels are not listed seperately as we can build ANY of our P1 bolted styles which are normally a drag wheel into the street/strip version. I can also create a custom wheel that was not bolted from our P1 section and turn it into a bolted street/strip wheel.

The wheels can be seen here: http://www.sjmmanufacturing.com/p1_wheels.html

Mike call me. My Convo-Pros will fit your car perfect if the rear is narrowed 1" each side and I will sell you the front and rears cheap. You could even come over and we could bolt one up and see. I tried to PM you but it says you are not excepting any PMs so my # is 863-409-5106.

I'll probably just end up buying some used Pro Star skinnies. I've already got the rears and not much overtime around this time of year.

I also changed my settings for PM's. Didn't realize it was set up like that...oops!

the billet specialties look good, but that is it. they didn't tell me i needed spacers when i first ordered them so i spent enough time wasted calling them and their tech telling me i didn;t know the difference between stock and aftermarket brakes, so i sent them back and wish them luck. steve at sjm gave me alot more info in the time talked to him with alot better wheel.

What's the weight difference on Strip vs Street/Strip bolted wheels? I'm mainly looking at the RT's. I can't afford 2 sets of rims. I was thinking of maybe running a 15x5 or 15x6 in the front, 15x10 in the back.

Out of the two, Bogarts for sure. Billets are getting played out pretty quickly. If you want a good looking direct fit LS1 wheel that not many people have yet, go with Weld Racings new R/T series wheels.

^^Looks great. How much is the rear narrowed? I'm planning on a narrowed rear in the spring. I'll have to choose be between the street/strip versions of the D10s, Floyds or GTs.
