Are tubes recommended when running slicks?
I was curious if its recommended that you run a tube in slicks? I bought a set of slicks already mounted on wheels a while back. I then purchased a different set of wheels to put the slicks on and while i was dismounting the slicks they had tubes in them. I went ahead and used them when mounting them on the new wheels.
But a friend of mine recently bought some slicks already mounted on wheels as well. He was also dismounting his slicks to put them on a different set of wheels and when he got the slicks off they had no tubes in them?
So just like the title says, are tubes recommended or not?

if the tire says "tubeless radial" then tubes arent required, is the easiest way to answer that.
usually if the tire has a bead, a tube isn't required. but if the slick "sits" on the rim then yes, use a bead.
