Those with 315's come on in...
I'm looking at some 315/35/17 Nitto 555r drag radials and I was wondering what other people's experiences have been with them. I have my fenders rolled and the BFH mod to the inner wheel well. I just don't want to order them and then mount them up to my wheels and have them rub on the outside fender...The wheels I have are 17x9.5 C6 Z06 Deep Dish Wheels...
Thanks!
Thanks!
I figured there would be someone who would poo-poo that. If you could please just answer my original question I would appreciate it. I know for a fact that the 555r will fit a 9.5 rim comfortably, my friend has run his on an 8.5 for 2 years now with no problem...I just want to know if a 315 TIRE will fit without rubbing?
As i recall nittos have a slightly narrower profile than other tires so they may work... But either way we just installed 315 on my buddies 11" wheels and they fit without even rolling the lip a little bit of hammering and he's driving around with no rubbing. So yes they fit but it also kinda depends on your back spacing, assuming thats ok you shouldnt have an issue.
I dont think its a good idea on a 9.5 I barly squeaked by with my 315/35/18's on a 10.5". But if you do it your gona most likely have to cut the bump stops off and use a BFH. I dont think your gonna have an issue with the fendors. My buddy is running 315/35/17's on an 11" rim. He is also lowered and only somtimes do the fendors touch barley on a hard corner. Its so little im sure it could be corrected with adj. lca's and the pan hard bar. The 9.5" will probably squeeze them in a bit so it should be ok...... Plus the Nittos run on the thin side for tires.

You'll have no issues at all with clearance since you'll be squeazing the crap out of those tires to fit on that rim. I'll be another to poo poo, it shouldn't be done. As has been stated on here numerous times, you'll barely see more tread width with the 315 squeezed on than if you just mounted the 275. You just get to pay more for the tires.

To answer your question about the TIRE a nitto 315 will fit with little to no modifications on the right wheel.

Buy tires that fit your wheels. Buying big tires when you don't have big wheels to go on them.

It should fit with no rubbing, but like said above the safety may be called into question. I had 315's on a 11 inch rim just fender rolled and never had a issue. It was lowered 2inches all around.

So you think this is safe? http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/b...8inchwheel.jpg

And i'm not trying to start a flame war, do i think that picture looks safe...hell no! But those aren't nittos and my buddies tires looks nowhere close to that...
I hope you found the info you need.
If you decide to go ahead, just remember, just because it hasn't killed you or your friend "yet" doesn't mean it's safe and a good idea.
