How does this wheel/tire combo sound? Alright Ive got a 98 Trans Am thats going to have a 408 with roughly 500-550rwhp. its got some mods....

Heres what i had in mind, I want decent traction for the street. I want to run a 315 DR with a 10.5" rim. any set of wheels ive looked at that i want doesnt come in a 17" 10.5". So im forced to run 18's in the rear. With this setup will i be able to hook up decent on the street with 18's? I know 18's are what is going to kill traction. How will these work at the track? Im thinking of running 315 slicks on a racing wheel like a drag lite or something for the track.
How does this setup sound to you guys? I didnt want to have to buy a second set of wheels/tires for the track. but I think thats going to be my best option...

Im pretty sure you will be able to hook up pretty good with a 18" wheel in the back. Just get you some ET Street Radials. If your a 6 speed, a 18" wheel will not be the best for track purposes (limited sidewall). You'll need a slick to really get the most out of your car. I see that you have a nice rearend and Im sure you have a good clutch. Get you a second set of drag wheels with a slick and let her eat.
Im thinking of going with the zr1's since i can run the 315 tire. its not my first choice as far as looks but if i can hook up then thats the most important thing i suppose. Ive been looking for gunmetal 17" 9.5" and front and 11" in the rear. they dont have them on the oewheels website or on ebay. Ive seen this before though. does anyone know where i can find them?
