Default prostars

im buying some for my 99ss and heard that i might need extended wheel studs cause the stock ones might break going down the track from being short...is this true or no

The length of the stud has very little to do with it breaking. What you need to look for is thread engagement. You need enough lug nut thread contact as possible to maintain the proper torque requirements to keep the wheel tight. The Prostar uses a 1.3 inch long shank lug nut and extends into the wheel to reach the stud. How many turns will you get on your lugs when you put them on?

You will need longer studs for the fronts if you run spacers. The rears should be fine. Also on the fronts you can run the Arp 2.5s but if you want the extra assurance they have the 3.25s. On mine I run the 2.5s in the front with a spacer and closed in lugs. On the rear I have the 3.25s with open end lugs.
