Default TTM wheels ?

Guys I bought a set of the TTM chrome wheels brand new. They have been on the car about 1 1/2 years. I go today to wash the car and wheels. Now I normally don't pay alot of attention to the inside of the wheels because its hard to get to them and I usually just try to rub inside what little I can and keep them a little clean. Well today I wet a rag and go to rub on the inside of the wheel and literally the chrome peels back as I wiped inward on the inside of the wheel.

I was shocked. I started examining them closer and I could tell under the brake dust they have become really pitted and the chrome is starting to come apart. Now this car is not driven in rain at all. It basically never sees any bad weather. Its just my weekend warrior. I am pretty pissed about this and very unsatisfied. I am not going to say where I got them from as I have not spoken to the business yet. Do I have every right to be pissed about this? I think i should be given a new set of wheels to replace these free of charge. Is that unreasonable? These things have been on the car less than 2 years. Hell the factory chrome rims I had before had no rust at all after 10 years on the car. Has anyone else with these wheels had these problems? Sorry for being so long just wanted to be detailed. Thanks.

If they got salt on them and never got thoroughly washed than it's normal.
One of my bikes peeled chrome with in a short period and my brother who's lived on the beach has had a brand new set of Imola rims for his vette peeling and pitting within months. So, I no longer buy chrome wheels her in Florida.

That is terrible. If the wheels haven't seen salt/sand then there is no good explanation why this would happen. I'd try to get a hold of American Racing and see what they have to say about it.

If I had known they could do this then I would never have bought them. Who the hell would buy wheels that rust and the chrome peels off in a year and a half? Like I said the factory chrome wheels that were on my car before had no rust or peeled chrome. And they were on their over 10 years. Sounds like factory knows how to chrome something. I'm gonna talk to the sponsor that I bought them from first and then go from there. And these wheels have never seen one drop of sand or salt. Like I said I never even drive it in the rain.
