Default Tire options for a 16"?

ok, ive got an 88 trans am gta, ls1 yadda yadda yadda, anyway I have been having a hard time finding performance tires bigger than a 255, id like to find a 275. I would just change the wheels, but they are kinda specific to the gta and kinda rare.

245/50 and 255/50 r the only sizes that r recommended for the 8" wheel...

ive seen 295's on an 8" wheel. 275's should work just fine.

that looks horrible, way too much sidewall, and way too wide for that rim... plus its 2" taller than stock... can't beat the look of a 275/40x17 on a 9" or 9.5" wide rim...

Its an odd size wheel, I have them as well 16x8 stockers. Think about it, how many cars are running a wide tire on a "tiny" (by todays standards) wheel? 16" is weird like that, so you wont find too much, if anything that wide (not that I think it looks good and/or safe). It would just not be good business for anyone making them. There are a few 245 or 255 drag radials out there (nitto, M/T, toyo).
