Default C5 wheel problem?

Hey i was wondering if anyone has had/has this problem, if so maybe you can help with a solution. So i recently bought a 99 z28. Yesterday i bought a set of C5 corvette wheels. (the skinny 5 spoke rims, 18 back 17 fron).. Well the rears have 275 40 18 tires on them. but they rub when i turn r if the car squats. i was wondering if i have to go to a skinner tire or if theres a different solution. Maybe spacer? or extended lugs? or cutting? i just need some help. thanks.

Thats typical. Just yank the wheels off & take a mallet to the inner fender. Also check your bumpstops & cut them back some for clearance. I'd do that before running a spacer.

I had a set & they rubbed in the rear if I hit a corner hard but it wasnt bad. I just left them like that but only ran them for a few weeks.

My buddy is running a 1/4 inch spacer from pep boys, no problems.
they are 18x9.5 out back with the same tire you have. no rubbing, no hammering.

you need a spacer, i believe the rear C5 wheels are a 79 mm offset, you need to bring them to around a 50 mm offset
