Default Weld rts question...

I'm looking to buy the weld rts but need to know which mounting pad to get.

It looks like with a 15x4 all you can get is a 1.5" backspacing w/ the med pad height. This seems like it wouldn't tuck in very well. I think the 15x4 w/ the low pad and 2.5" would look better...even if I have to run a spacer like I did w/ the pro-stars?? Still have the 5/16" spacer if I need it

Also should I get the low pad for the rear? My brakes have already been ground down from when I had the pro-stars

Another question is that my rear is narrowed 2.5" so I thought of running a 5.5" backspace. This would give a 1/2" of tuck? Correct?

You need the medium pad for the fronts. The 1.5 backspace doesn't look as bad as it sounds. The 2.5" would not fit even with the 5/16th spacer. Your prostars were 1.75" backspace. If your axle is shortened 2.5" then a 5.5" backspace would put the wheel exactly where a 15x10 7.5" backspace with a stock rear would sit. If you can see my signature, you can see how they sit with 325 radials on them.

Thx! I have an lt1 car if that makes a difference.

So for the rear do I need med or low?

Also if I took 2.5" off the rear wouldn't a 5" backspace sit like stock? And the 5.5" would be in .5 ?

You need the same medium pad for the rear, even with LT1 brakes. And yes it would be in .5" if you use a 5.5 backspace with your rear end. I must have been half asleep when I read that the first time, I thought you narrowed it 2.0, not 2.5.
