Default 315 Tires For Street and Track

So a couple months ago i picked up a damn near new set of 17x11 ZR1 wheels with sumitomo tires on them, here i am about 3k miles later and the sumitomos are bald, they suck horribly when it comes to traction, and obviously they wear something fierce, what would be a good set of all around street, track tires, from what ive noticed none of the tire stores even sell a 315 and i surely dont want to go back to the sumislowmo's what are you guys all running for 315's????

Sumitomo's are cheap, yes, but 3k miles? Good god, do you do break stands all the time? lol.

I don't expect to get a lot of miles out of tires anymore, somewhat in part because I like doing the occasional burnout and/or sliding around, but mostly because I don't drive the car but ~3-5k maybe a year, so in all honestly replacing tires every 2 years doesn't really matter to me.

To answer your question, IMO Nitto makes the best all around tire and for a great price. STREET tire, NOT the drag radial. I've heard more people say they get 15-20k out of a set of street radials (NT555s) and love them. Other then that, keep slapping a set of $250 tires on and rollin...

Does anybody have any information on the Toyo's? Like how many miles do those last? I've heard they do pretty well on the track.

LOL I've never seen ANY set of tires last less than 5k miles unless you drive like a madman or a 16 year old. I'm not calling you a liar; maybe you had a deffective set. I'm going to get some TTII's with taxes this year and plan on getting some Nitto 555's. I've had several sets of 315 Sumi's and got 20k on each set with a fare amount of track time as well but I want something that hooks a little better too.

for a street/track car, i like the nittos. Ive got the 555r's out back on the 11" zr1's and theyve been fine so far. been riding on them since Christmas and the ride is great, they are wearing fine too. I cant really comment on grip as my transmission has died twice since i had them on, put ill have my t56 in in the next week or two. pretty cheap too.

our cars will really be twins then lol
I got almost 10 thousand miles on my nt555's and they still look new. A buddy of mine got 60k out of his, I'm not buying any tires other than a drag radial that'll last no longer than 20k.

Ive actually been pretty friendly to this set of 315's my toyo proxes lasted me 14k miles and i abused the hell out of those, these have only been to the track once with 3 burnouts on them and im down a little past the wear bars already, i will never own another set of these, they do not hook for garbage either.
