It shouldnt be a problem getting 1.8s out of them. That was my best (cam only) but if I didnt bog it a few times maybe 1.7s couldve been had. Thats with an M6. The 555r isnt a bad tire, you have to warm them up good first. Anything stickier & you risk breaking the 10 bolt. I got a new set of MT drs but I wont install them until I get my fab 9 in.

Also watch the center tread as they wear. Every set I've had and everyone I know, the center section of tread wears out before the outer edge treads. So they look like they still have a lot left, but the centers are basically bald. Almost lost it at 60mph when the road was wet and it started to hydroplane.

had some 275/50/15 on mine, put them on when it was still cold (near freezing temps) and they were no worse than street tires
they were better in the rain than any of the **** street tire 15s I've run as well (bfg, cooper, toyo) until they wore...once that middle wears out they get scary when its damp
best 60ft was a 1.79 still spinning some

Nittos 555r's have taken me to 11.81. They are a good street/strip drag radial.

I agree, Nitto tires as a whole are great tires for the price you pay. I personally like the 555s and would rather run them instead of the DRs just for tire life, comfort, and ease of mind when driving in inclement weather.
I'm sorry but that's horrible advice. Yes, the Nitto DRs run smaller then related 315 DRs but to put a 315 of ANY brand on a 9" (or 9.5") wheel is sheer stupidity. It's been covered many times, so I'm not going to continue on this subject but I figured I'd at least comment on that.

A little buldge but it's not too bad. Looks better than the 275 Nitto 555R being stretched on the 17x9. You're not going to do any hardcore corning carving on these 315's especially running on 22psi but it hooks up nice.

I'm about to swap them out, I can take a picture of the tread if you'd like. I'm waiting on my 17x11's to show up so I can mount some correctly sized 315 Toyo TQs out back.

I have them on my SS m6 315/35/17 and i have been running them at 40 psi and its 50/50 sometimes they hook sometimes they dont. I have yet to break them loose in the rain unless it was deliberate. I took them to the track at 40psi and the best 60' was a 2.07. I wasnt trying to blow the 10 bolt either. I may drop the pressure down next year at the track and see how they do. I will know then if i'll buy them again
