1st set quite a few burnouts & track passes. 2nd set very few track passes, maybe 5 track outings. Lots of slipping the clutch burnouts on the street throwing over 400 whp at them though

It shouldnt be a problem getting 1.8s out of them. That was my best (cam only) but if I didnt bog it a few times maybe 1.7s couldve been had. Thats with an M6. The 555r isnt a bad tire, you have to warm them up good first. Anything stickier & you risk breaking the 10 bolt. I got a new set of MT drs but I wont install them until I get my fab 9 in.

Don't go using them in cold weather.......anything below like 50 degrees and they will be like driving on bannana skins and will also develop cracks.

Good information! We were having a Santa Clause Shoot Our (Bracket Racing) with a street class down here. I was debating on doing it but mostly likely I'm not racing ha it just seems like a bad idea but I'll watch!

Also watch the center tread as they wear. Every set I've had and everyone I know, the center section of tread wears out before the outer edge treads. So they look like they still have a lot left, but the centers are basically bald. Almost lost it at 60mph when the road was wet and it started to hydroplane.

had some 275/50/15 on mine, put them on when it was still cold (near freezing temps) and they were no worse than street tires

they were better in the rain than any of the **** street tire 15s I've run as well (bfg, cooper, toyo) until they wore...once that middle wears out they get scary when its damp

best 60ft was a 1.79 still spinning some

Nittos 555r's have taken me to 11.81. They are a good street/strip drag radial.

You have to run the pressure low on the street so the centers don't wear out as fast. I daily drive on 22psi on mine.

I agree, Nitto tires as a whole are great tires for the price you pay. I personally like the 555s and would rather run them instead of the DRs just for tire life, comfort, and ease of mind when driving in inclement weather.

I'm sorry but that's horrible advice. Yes, the Nitto DRs run smaller then related 315 DRs but to put a 315 of ANY brand on a 9" (or 9.5") wheel is sheer stupidity. It's been covered many times, so I'm not going to continue on this subject but I figured I'd at least comment on that.

Yea don't put a 315 on a 9.5 in rim. I currently have them on my 9.5 in rim and they wore in the middle real bad and I only got about 8000 miles out of them. And thats with a normal tire is isnt a drag radial or anything. I have had my tire up to about 165 or so with this tire more than once so I would say its still safe but it will wear bad in the middle

A little buldge but it's not too bad. Looks better than the 275 Nitto 555R being stretched on the 17x9. You're not going to do any hardcore corning carving on these 315's especially running on 22psi but it hooks up nice.

I'm currently on my second pair. I get a solid 10k miles before I hit the outer wear bars. The center wear bar will be worn by then but the center tread is no where near being bald. This is when they start showing their age and I swap them out as they no longer dead hook on the motor in 1st. The car still moves out but I can feel it spinning some.

I'm about to swap them out, I can take a picture of the tread if you'd like. I'm waiting on my 17x11's to show up so I can mount some correctly sized 315 Toyo TQs out back.

Nittos have a smaller tread width for a 315 and I run them at 22psi. A larger tread width tire would bubble more and on "normal" tire pressure would wear the centers out faster.

I have them on my SS m6 315/35/17 and i have been running them at 40 psi and its 50/50 sometimes they hook sometimes they dont. I have yet to break them loose in the rain unless it was deliberate. I took them to the track at 40psi and the best 60' was a 2.07. I wasnt trying to blow the 10 bolt either. I may drop the pressure down next year at the track and see how they do. I will know then if i'll buy them again

Any reason you run 40 psi? Way more than I run. I had a place overinflate my tires to 45 psi on an old car of mine. Felt like I was riding on basketballs.
