need advice on buying used wheels

I'm buying wheels locally.

How can I make sure I'm not buying wheels that visually look okay but maybe slightly bent?

Would it be simple as taking them to a wheels & tires place & have them verify?

Yeah, they could throw them on their spin balancer, and see if they run "true". It shouldn't cost more than a few bucks...a good investment.

I have purchased two sets of wheels on ebay and the wheels have come out fine. I guess if there was a problem and they said they were true, you could return them.
