Default Mounting Billet Specialties using a regular machine?

I just got a set of Billet Specialties Street Lites and it says the wheels need to be mounted using a "touchless machine" since a regular tire machine will damage the wheel. The thing is, is that there is no touchless tire machine anywhere near me. I talked to another guy locally who had the Street Lites and he just put towels between the jaws of the machine and the rim itself to prevent damage. But i was also told that the clamping force from the jaws could possibly bend the wheels outward since they're so light and a 2 piece rim. Any input is welcome!

a regular machine wont damage the wheels if the person using it knows what they are doing

I took mine to Sears and stood there while they mounted them. The one guy knew what he was doing so I had him do all 4 of them.
