Default wheel spacers

Hello all, i have a dilemma! Last year i bought some of the y2k replicas for my TA. They were the ones made for the f body. The only problem is the rep told me that since i have a convertible that i could only go with the 9.5" in the back with a MAXIMUM tire size of 275/35r18. He said this was due to the wheelwells being narrower on the vert than the hatchbacks. Well he was right because when i mounted them and looked there was very very little space and they even rub on extremely hard cornering. I was wanting a set of 17x11's..Oh well my question is could i get some spacers for the back and possibly go maybee one size wider, even if not just the spacer to flush the wheel up with the fender it has kind of a "tuck look" right now. Dont get me wrong i dont want to rice it out..you know the 85 accords with 12 inch reverse daytons.. just would like it at least to be even with the fenders..if anyone has a convertible with some kind of setup like these i would love to see it. Also can i trust the spacers have never wanted/needed to use them until now. Thanks guys Matt

The wheel well of a rag top is NOT really that different than a Coupe. The cars all start out as couplke and the roof gets chopped off.

I have 18" x 10.5" wheels on my SS ragtop with 295/35YR18 tires. With the right combonation of width, offset and tire size, a 17" x 11" will fit. You may have to massage the inner wheel well lip and get an adjustable panhard rod, but it will work.

Offsets should be between 44 and 50 mm.

As for spacers, yes you can run them, but I advise getting stronger/longer wheel studs too.

thanks for the info, that pisses me off that i bought 9.5's i guess the rep just didn't know what he was doing. My fault for not resarching first i guess. I will have to go with the spacers bc i cant afford new wheels.. who makes them and what size? I would not even consider them without the uprgraded studs.
Thanks again
Matt
