16s to 17s - difference in ride?

16s to 17s - difference in ride? I got a killer deal on a set of 17x9/11 ZR1s with almost new BFG KDs all around to replace my factory 16x8 with Kuhmo 255s. I had the seller keep bald Sumitomos on the rear until I finished the clearancing, BFHing, etc before I have the wider KDs put on. (oh yeah, I noticed Sumitomo 315s are 11.5" across compared to BFG KDs which are right at 13"...same size)
Anyway, besides the front tires following every little groove in the road and feeling more of the road in general, should I be feeling resistance? Its hard to describe but its as if I have to give the car just a hair more gas and its easier to stop... in other words, more resistance. Is this normal or am I just paranoid?
Oh, heres the new rear shot w bald sumis...i'll take a new one when I get the wider BFGs put on

No, you're not imagining it. The wider tires have more rolling resistance, and the "shorter" sidewalls create a stiffer ride.
I put a set of 17s on my car a couple of years ago, and to be honest, I'm kind of sorry. I don't need that much of a stiffer ride, I'm not racing the car.....
