I need help deciding on a tire size for my 98' camaro. I am wanting slicks and found a good deal on craigslist for some brand new ones. They are hoosier 28x10 on factory 16" camaro wheels. I am putting right at 400 to the wheels right now with a 6spd. Do I have enough power for a 28x10 slick?? I just had tick build my transmission and will have an M9 installed by the weekend so breakage shouldn't a problem.

I say, if you have a v8 with over 300rwhp and a solid rear, slicks are good. since you have a built tranny, bullet proof rear, and using slicks launch that bad boy at 6k. lol

I am in the same position as you, although, I am on the stock M6. I am thinking Hoosier 28x10.5 which is a stiff sidewall. From what I have read, stiff sidewalls are what you want for an M6.
Before you pickup those 28's, run some calculations for your anticipated trap speed. You will want to be trapping in 4th gear bumping as close to the rev limiter as you can. You may want to be on 26's depending on your gear ratio and if your are running the 1/4 or 1/8 mile. If you buy the 16" wheels, you will not have very many choices in slick sizes to play with.
