3 Peice Wheel Disassembly???
I have a set of 19/20 I Forged (Classic's) wheels.
I want to paint or powder coat the centers black. Has anyone had any experience taking apart a 3 peice wheel? It looks pretty labor intensive but seems to be straight forward. I will have all winter to get it done and will make for a good winter project. Are there any special tools needed? I did some research about what type of sealant to use but read different things. I would really be pissed of at myself if I screwed up a set of $4k wheels.
I found a website that shows you a step by step process for a BBS wheel. I don't know if this would be the same for an I Forged wheel or not. I also read that I Forged wont give you any information about torque specs and pretty much say's that you can't do it yourself.
Any thoughts?

Thanks for the link. Great vids with a lot of info.
It seems that I wouldn't even need to take the wheels completely apart if all I want to do is paint the centers.
Basically...it looks like I would just have to unbolt the center, remove, paint, reinstall and torque.
Doesn't look like there is all that much to it.

I just took apart some fm5s just take all the bolts out cut the silicone and make sure u mark the wheel parts to line them back up. Take a rubber maker and beat them apart it won't hurt them at all

i have the old school epsilon 3pc rims from the c4 corvette, i took mine a part sand blasted them and powder coated them black. just give the silicone time to set up and cure, youll be alright ** make sure all surfaces are clean for new silicone" (time consuming)
