New Bullett Replicas spacing problem

Default New Bullett Replicas spacing problem

I'm putting my 17 x 10.5's on the rear, but there is about a 2mm gap between the rim and the rotor...it's not flat against the rotor like it should be. Now in a recent article in Popular Hot Rodding they ran into a similar problem and chose to bevel off the rear hub openings with a metal rasp...I'm a little leary of that because of the deformation to that part of the rim. I know spacers can be dangerous at times, but we're only talking 2mm here, it shouldn't shorten the wheel stud length too much.

So, spacer or bevel??

And for those that are wondering, I did have to cut away the rear bump stop, and it'll be close as to whether I'll need to pound in the fender at all.

It appears that there are some of these cars with rear disc brakes that have a larger bore.70.7. These cars are very few and far between.I remember this happening with the ANtera Opus One on the Camaro about 8 years ago. replica will be making the running change to a 70.7 in order to help with this problem

makes sense....but what should I do? I dont' suppose there is anything that will help me with a permanent fix? I'm going to run with spacers in the mean time, I do not want to bevel the inside as they did in that article.

you think so? I bought the tool to do it, so if I dont' like the spacers then I will, but definately leary to do that.
