Default Powdercoating Prices?

i just went to a shop to look into getting my fm10s powdercoated (satin center, gloss lip) and was quoted $85 to coat and $25 to strip per wheel. does that seem like a decient price or is it high? and they were going to sandblast and then sand the wheels, should i look into getting them sodablasted instead?

I'm getting my firehawk wheels powdercoated in the next few weeks, found a couple shops in Tulsa, here were their prices:

Broken Arrow powder coating wanted $60 per wheel, that includes sandblasting. I've used them before to do some 1994 corvette wheels black with a polished lip, they came out awesome....very happy with the results. I had contacted them several months back to do my firehawk wheels a "chrome look" powdercoat, the told me $60 plus another $30 for a clear coat, so $90 per wheel, but, they're not doing that chrome look powder coating anymore.

So, I found another shop here in Tulsa, www.abitl.com they charge $35.25 per wheel for powdercoating but they don't sandblast (she referred me to another company that sandblasts for $10 per wheel), the "chrome look" powder coating is $53 per wheel with the clear coat applied. So, for $250, I can get all 4 of my firehawk wheels sandblasted and chrome look powdercoated, it would be cheaper for just color powder coating ($180).

Hope that helps some,

-Ian

I generally charge 100 per to strip and double coat, two coats of color or a color that requires clear.

$75 a wheel is probably the median price with blasting. $100 on the high side, $50 on the low side. I personally wouldn't pay more than $75 unless it was a chrome or specialty powdercoat.

its just a plain ppg smooth matte black and a normal gloss. he showed me a few different types of matte and they all had some sort of texture to it nd then the ppg one was completely smooth. so it would be maybe 110 to sandblast and powdercoat. im going to call some other shops next week to get their prices
