I have the General Altimax Arctics and they get me around no problem, I usually keep some weight in the trunk also. I don't usually drive in more than a few inches of snow but they do pretty well all things considered.

The generals are a great tire. A lot of my co-workers are running them. I haven't heard a single complaint and priced great as well. A second set of wheels as suggested is the best way to go.

Glad to hear you both of you have had positive results with the Generals Arctics. They rated very well in a leading consumer magazine. The major majority of our customers love this tire.
