Default Storing and possible flat spots

How long does it take to develop flat spots on a stored car. Storing 4-6 months at 20-40 degrees now. Tires are Riken Raptor 275/40-17 and BF Goodrich Comp T/A 295/35/18. Car weight is on them now sitting on cement. And if they do when taken out of storage will they go back after a few miles driving are put back on? i remember the old tires in the day would get a flat spot almost over night in the sub zero cold outside. I know they were a totally differant makeup than what is out there now.THANKS for any headsup.

I would put about 38-40psi of air in them to help, that's what I do during the winter, but mine is in a garage that stays at ~50 degrees.

Keep your eyes open for someone who is getting new carpeting in their house, and putting the old stuff at the curb. Grab a chunk of the old carpet and cut it into 12" squares.

Pump your tires up to 40-42 lbs. of air pressure, place two carpet squares in front of each tire, then drive the car up on to them. Remove car from carpet squares in the spring, and reduce air pressure to normal....

i looked up (winter storage tips)... it states to inflate the tires 10+ psi over whats stated..
i left mine for over a year at a time (deployments) and they were fine after a short slow drive...then up to posted speeds

Be carefull with storing performance tires in sub freezing cold temps
you will eventually get cracking on the treads.

The summer rubber compounds nowadays are just not set up to handle such
wide temperature ranges especially if you are planning to air them up an extra
10 lbs or so that would only help to make them crack that much easier and sooner
