Default chrome flaking off

I have a set of chrome c6 zo6 wheels and the chrome between the spokes is starting to flake off. I've had them about a year and clean them every 3 to 4 weeks. Would brake dust really eat the chrome this bad? I have hawk hps pads.

I highly doubt its the brake dust... its more the cheap finish iff is not an oem part..

Also be careful with what "cleaners" you use..I always used a light mixture of car soap in the bucket..and I never had issues with my chrome zr1's...

I say let them flake..get them powder coated in black chrome..

this mixed with a really strong cleaner will do that, honest have they salt at all? that will do that eay as well, trust me i have worked in a detail shop and some of that rim cleaner is pretty much acid, thats the downside with cheap wheels,
