Default Can You Patch A Slick?

After my last run of the day yesterday I noticed that one of my brand new 28" MT slicks was low on air. Ended up finding a small puncture in the center of the tread, must of picked somthing up when I was driving to the pits. Anyway, has anyone patched a slick before? At first I figured you could but then I wasn't sure because it's a much different compound than a regular street tire.

Thanks.

Plug it if it's on the contact surface. If it's on the sidewall throw it away. I can't remember who but there is a plug with a patch type of thing you put through the inside of the tire, they are mainly for motorcycles.
