Looking for cheap, quality tires... I have an 02Z with 10 spoke SS wheels. There are currently 275/40r17's at all four corners. They are worn out. I want to put a cheap set of tires on these rims for trips and winter driving. I have a second set of rims I intend on putting NT05's on for summer driving and occasional track use. So how narrow of a tire can I put on the 9" wide SS wheels? (Thought being narrower=cheaper) What are a cheap, reliable set of tires for routine driving, handling is of minimal concern due to the nature of use intended for this set of tires. Road noise is a concern, but limited, due to use for long trips. Thanks.
BTW... I live in Virginia, so snow isn't a concern. The car sits in the garage most of the winter, so I would rather flat spot cheap tires is the thought for installing them during the winter months.

My anniversary wheels (same size wheels) had 245 45 on the fronts when I got . And I would probably do kumhos for what you are wanting. I have run several different kumhos on the different sets of wheels I have had on my truck over the years and have been happy with .

I would look into the Kumho's like others have said. I had two on my car when I first got it and they weren't bad tires but they weren't like the Nitto NT555's like I have now though.
