Drag radial advise...
'69 Pro touring Camaro with full stage 3 Ridetech suspension, 500 horse ls3, mini-tub, t56 magnum and moser 12 with 3:73.
Rim will be Billet Specialties Pro Lite in 17x11 (to fit 13" rotors)
1. Mt 295/45/17 27.2" tall or
2. Mt 315/35/17 25.7" tall
I've done tons of research and I'm leaning toward the 295. Upside, less shock on the launch. Downside, reduces overall gear ratio.
The 315 may be slightly harder to launch, but will keep the rear gear ratio in spec and just has a better look if I use them for limited street use.
Last option is the 9.5"rim with the Mt 275/40/17, but just want more meat back there even though I know these will hook just fine.
I will drive this setup to and from the track only.
Thanks for the input!
Matt
You seem optimistic on the traction issue!! Unless you launch low, I think you'll be spinning with either tire. With your minitubs check to see if the 335/35/17 is avail. in a drag radial, they'll get you a little more sidewall and more width for traction. Should look killer on your car too!!!
