FYI for auto-x go with some 17x11s all around with 315/35's and a better tires like NT01s or strait up race tires like Hoosiers.

Why use an oversized front tire for a drag only setup? The reduced contact patch (and thus rolling resistance) of a skinnier front tire would be preferred for this purpose. Even the stock 245/50 size would be better, but since it's a drag only setup I would go with a 235/55 or 225/55, either of which will fit on a stock 16x8 wheel.

This is another example where wide tires are not your friend. For a winter/snow tire, concentrating the vehicle's weight on a smaller contact patch will cut through snow better. If you are dealing with significant snow conditions, I'd recommend a 16x 7, 7.5, or 8" wheel with a 225/55 snow tire for best results.

If you are just looking for a tread compound that can handle cold temps but not deal with any snow, they you'd be fine with the wider all-season performance tire that you have suggested.
