Default Tire Selection Help

I recently bought my 1999 Z28 and it now needs new tires. This car is my daily driver for summer and winter so I am looking for a goo all around tire. My car has the stock 16in rims on it and right now it has 245/50R16 front and rear. I am looking to find a set of tires for around $500 if possible, but any tire suggestions are welcome.

Thanks in advance

BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2 comes in around $484+shipping from Tirerack. That's probably the best all around 3-season tire you can get for that size.

If you see snow, you might have to step up to something like the BFGoodrich g-Force Super Sport A/S - but it's $548+shipping.

THIS^^^ is the absolute BEST HANDLING four season tire out there, and more than worth the cost of putting them on our cars (they are also one of the very few great tires left made in our stock, non-SS/WS6 sizes).

Ok, I looked into the BFG Super Sport A/S and the majority of the review I read say that they will only make it around 18-20k miles. Is that normal for this type of tire? I know when I bought tires for my truck they are all in line the 40k range. Just curious.

They will definitely NOT last as long as the B-Stone 960 all seasons, but they will ABSOLUTELY out-handle them for ~20-25% less cost (IF you can still even find those tires in 245/50-16!).

You have a performance car. You want something with a semi soft compound so the car can hook up and handle properly. If you drive them normal you will probably get more than 20k but not if your aggressive.

I also recommend these as a good choice.

BFGoodrich g-Force Super Sport A/S (W-Speed Rated)

Ultra High Performance All-Season

Since you can't afford the Michelin or Goodyear, the tire I listed above is a very good choice for your needs and will last much longer than 20,000 miles with that 400 Treadwear rating (unless you constantly floor it).
They were standard issue on my GT/CS back in '07 and no complaints at all until they got too old after 6 years (rubber compound started getting too hard which is typical for any tire).

Has anyone ever heard of or used the Uniroyal Tigerpaw GTZ? The Dobbs that I am going to only has the BFG Comp 2, Michelin PilotSport AS (which are very expensive), or the Tigerpaws. The reviews i read about them they say they are great, so right now im leaning towards them.
