what size tires? I am trying to decide which rims and tires to get. I really like the Smoothie IIs. I know you can't get smoothie IIs in 17x9 so it will have to be 17x10s all around or 17x8 up front and 17x10 in the rear. My car is a daily driver and I do not take it to the track, so I do not want to be driving around on drag radials and risk getting caught in the rain and having to replace the rear tires every 4-6 months because the treadlife is so bad on that size tires.
I have heard several people say that 17x10s all around will not work because they rub up front. I have heard other people say that 17x10 all around will work. Some people have said that 275/40/17 will not work on 17x10s, that they are fine for 17x8 or 17x9 but they don't quite sit right on 17x10. I don't want to force anything to fit (especially if it is a safety risk) and I don't want it to look ridiculous either. What size tires will fit on 17x10 rims besides 315/35/17? 275/40/17? 285/35/17??
basically I am looking for street tires that fit correctly on 17x10 rims that will be good for daily driver use. My other rim and tire option is getting a set of 17x9 SLP 10 spokes and a set of 275/40/17 Pirelli P-zero Nero tires. let me know what you think?

I'm in the same situation you are in. I need to know the answers to the exact same questions. I am definitely buying wheels and tires at the end of the summer if not sooner. I'm currently leaning toward 17x10 all around. I searched and found one guy running 17x10 Boyd Smoothy 2's on a blue Camaro. But he wasn't sure of the offset. It was whatever Todd had told him.

In other threads while doing a search for 17x10, I found some Trans Am guys running with 38mm offset all the way around. But I know from the "does it fit thread" that the TA has different offset requirements

there is more room to play in the front than in the rear. whatever fits in the back, fits more easily in the front.
