17x10.5 on the front

So I purchased sumitomos 315/35/17 and put them on my ttm 17x10.5 wheels with 7.50 inch backspace. I drove it and they seem to sit ok. There is slight rubbing in the front of the tire with the plastic wheel well guard whatchacallit when at full lock either direction but other than that they ride great.

My only concern is maybe something I am just not seeing. I have read about the bottom of the strut tower punching a hole in tires and if this is a concern what is the fix for it. Any info would be appreciated.

I have 2 more 10.5 inch rims with nothing mounted on them, would my best bet be to go with 285/40/17 somethings and slap those on the front just to be safe.

damn that's a huge tire up front, i'm gonna do 295x35x18 up front and it scares me haha.

....and I changed my mind. I returned my 2 unopened 17x10.5's im gonna hold out for 17x9's for the front. Not my cup of tea. I'm an indecisive sumb*tch
